Single mom with 2 children

I’m a single mom and I have two kids staying with my parents. The last couple years have been very trying for my family after leaving a domestic violence situation and trying keeping things as routine and supportive for my children. I’ve had some health issues with recurring pneumonia/health issues over the last year. My son was diagnosed with a brain tumor on his last day of FourK in June following an appointment with his ophthalmologist and being admitted to the Childrens Hospital Emergency Room with no prior indication. He’s made a remarkable recovery and started Kindergarten this year. He will be having another procedure in January to have the remaining tumor removed. He’s a little Daredevil that has no fear and has been the definition of a Champ. My daughter has been the most caring and sensitive little girl in every aspect of her life. She loves school, helping people, and is a little bleeding heart. She like to plan and be prepared for everything; she already has a bag packed to visit with her brother when he’s in the hospital. We love to cook and do art projects together. We also like to have “theater” nights and watch movies and have snacks and treats.

Thank you so much for your generosity. Your gift is a tremendous help to our family. The holidays are hard; We all get emotional and overwhelmed. Sometimes providing the most basic things are a struggle and I know that this program will provide some of the only gifts that I will be able to give my kids for Christmas. I am so thankful for everything that I can hardly put it into words. It has taken me weeks to complete this application. A lot of that comes from shame for not being able to take care of everything; while I cry and my daughter tells me that everything is ok. I am so lucky to have the support that I do.
