About the family

Our family includes my two sons, myself, and our beautiful cat.

I am a busy single mom of two very active boys. One loves participating in sports. His favorite sports to participate in are football and wrestling. He is also the best little big brother on earth, as his older brother is developmentally younger than him. One has more energy than the rest of us put together. He is developmentally delayed but he’s a busy body, always pretending to “go to work” and to fix things with tools. I work as a home caregiver and attend college full time. My goal is to prove to my children (and myself) that even when life is busy and stressful, we can achieve our dreams and goals. As a family we love to bake, play games, read books together, create family artwork masterpieces, and have family movie and popcorn nights. These past few months have been a struggle emotionally and financially as we had to move, but we are adjusting and loving our new home.

Gift Ideas for the Children

Boy Age 12

This child is developmentally disabled. He is obsessed with cars, trucks, steering wheels, and tools. He loves to take things apart that I don’t always know how to put back together but he’s learning himself. He also loves coloring, basketball, and riding his bike. Ideas for him are an inexpensive tool kit (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.), sharpies, Fast and Furious die cast cars, matchbox cars. Any cars, really. Lately he’s been in to Ford Raptures and Dodge Challengers.

This child is really into sports. He plays football and wrestles. He also plays Roblox and Minecraft with his friends. He is also very artistic and loves to create art. Some ideas he has given me are a football, a soccer ball, sharpies, WWE action figure Randy Orton, Goo Jitsu characters, Stretch Armstrong, and stuffed animals. He still loves and plays with his “stuffies”.

I can not even begin to express how much it means to be able to have something to provide my children for the holidays at a time when we are really struggling.
